Brown & Brown’s reinsurance subsidiary is Axiom Re, a multi-faceted reinsurance services company. While treaty reinsurance brokerage is the mainstay of this operation, Axiom Re also provides consulting services and access to capital markets. As reported by Business Insurance magazine, Axiom Re is the 6th largest reinsurance intermediary based in the U.S., with offices in North Carolina, Connecticut, Illinois and Florida.
The majority of Axiom Re’s management and staff have spent their careers in insurance and reinsurance, with backgrounds ranging from broking experience at major intermediary firms to underwriting and technical support experience at Lloyd’s of London, General Re, American Re and Swiss Re, to reinsurance buying for primary companies such as USF&G. Senior executives all have nearly two decades or more experience in the reinsurance industry. Client relationships are long term in nature, some more than 20 years, and are solidified by Axiom Re’s value added service.
